The German outfit comfortably beat a much-changed Spurs side for the second week running, with the striker scoring twice on the night and Heung-min Son adding a consolation
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice to extinguish any faint Tottenham hopes of a comeback as Borussia Dortmund marched into the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
It took the visitors a little over 20 minutes to put the tie to bed as Aubameyang turned 30 yards from goal and, under little pressure, beat Hugo Lloris with a swerving shot into the far corner.
Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan had chances to further embarrass Tottenham before half-time, both through on goal, but the presence of Toby Alderweireld alone was enough to keep Lloris’s goal safe.
The Gabon international scored again after the break, being afford far too much room, by slotting past Lloris to cap an emphatic display over two legs before Heung-min Son added a late consolation.
