Dogara Replaces House Appropriation Committee Chairman

The Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has removed the Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin as chairman of the committee.

He was replaced with Mustapha Bala Dawaki, the House Chairman on Housing, representing Kudu/Warawa federal constituency of Kano state.

According to Dogara shortly before the house adjourned today's sitting, “He (Jibrin) met me and said he does not think he would continue as the committee chairman due to the pressure of the work.

But the Speaker maintained that Jibrin had requested for his removal from the Committee, hence, the change.
