Having spent two seasons at Chelsea, it seems abundantly clear that Diego Costa would like to leave the club this summer.
Costa was a success as Chelsea won the Premier League during his first season at the club, but last season was a bit of a disaster with the Spanish (Brazilian born) striker failing to lift himself virtually for the full campaign.
According to a whole host of reports, primarily from the Spanish media in Madrid, Costa wants to leave Chelsea this summer and would like to return to Atletico Madrid.
On their part, Atletico are keen to have Costa back as they look to challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid again, in both La Liga and the Champions League.

Chelsea reject Atletico Madrid’s €60m offer

On Tuesday, speculation over Costa’s future ratcheted up a notch as Marca reported that Chelsea had rejected a 60 million euro offer from Atletico Madrid.
Whilst Atletico Madrid’s main focus is to bring in a new striker, it would be a surprise if they can pay much more than 60 million euros.
But, if Chelsea can find another new striker, to go with Michy Batshuayi, you suspect they would sell Costa for such a big fee.

Antonio Conte wants Diego Costa to stay

On Tuesday, new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was questioned about Diego Costa and came out with a strong statement:
“Diego is our player. He is a fantastic player, a player with a fundamental importance and there is no problem. He stays with us, he is working very hard, he is very happy to work with his teammates and with me in the new idea of football. He is a Chelsea player.
“He is an important player, a very strong player, one of the best in the world, and I am sure when he goes into our ideas he will score a lot of goals for us.”
Expect the Diego Costa speculation to run and run.
