Julian Green scored a first-half hat-trick in front of his home crowd as Bayern Munich demolished Inter Milan 4-1 in their International Champions Cup clash in North Carolina.
The American winger, who has had little involvement with the Bayern first team and was demoted to Hamburg’s reserve side during a loan spell last season, is a six-cap USA international and gave his home fans plenty to cheer about at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Franck Ribery also found the net for Bayern, before Mauro Icardi slotted a consolation in the 90th minute, but it was Green who garnered most of the attention as he got his side off and running with a glanced near-post finish after just seven minutes.
