Chelsea have completed the signing of defender Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina, the Italian club have confirmed.
Alonso, who had spells at Bolton and Sunderland earlier in his career, was keen on a return to the Premier League.
Conte sanctioned the departure of Baba Rahman earlier in the window with a view to signing Alonso but the Blues had their first offer rejected by Fiorentina.
However, the Serie A giants confirmed on their website today that they had sold Alonso to Chelsea in a deal believed to be worth £23m.
The Spaniard arrives at Stamford Bridge on the back of his finest campaign to date and the 25-year-old could be joined by David Luiz, who Chelsea hope to sign in the remaining hours of the window.
