#Rio2016: WATCH Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung Respond to Reports that Mikel Obi Paid $4,000 hotel bill for Dream Team

Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung has reacted to the issue of Team Nigeria’s Captain, Mikel Obi, paying $4,000 hotel bills for the players.
Dalung said that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took 10 extra officials, apart from the 25 stated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to #Rio2016.

He said that the $4,000 was payment for the 10 “excess officials”. He also said that the IOC communicated to him that the 10 extra officials were involved in “sharp practices”.
He said that the Ministry of Sports paid back the $4,000 adding that team held the ministry hostage by using payment of the $4,000 as a condition for them to play quarterfinal game against Denmark.
