Katy Perry burst into tears in an emotional moment after surprising Tony Marrero, who is one of the survivors from the Orlando Pulse night club shooting.
The Rise star was brought out on stage as a surprise guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday.
Ellen spoke with 30-year-old Marrero, who works at the Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park.
He talked about what happened on the tragic night on June 12 where a gunman opened fire in the LGBT nightclub, killing 49 people.
Marrero managed to survive despite being shot four times in the back and once in his arm.
He told Ellen that he thought he managed to survive because he was able to keep his head protected underneath a chair.
The Florida native revealed that while he recovered from his injuries in hospital it was Katy's latest song Rise that gave him the motivation to make it through.
