Six injured in Houston mall shooting, gunman shot dead by police

Six people were wounded after a gunman opened fire at a strip mall in Houston, Texas on Monday, September 26th, before he was shot and killed by police.
Houston Fire Department spokesman, Richard Mann, said via Twitter that an active shooter at Weslayan &Bissonnnet was shot by officers and that there are no reports of other suspects at this time. Several people have been taken to the hospital but they cannot provide details about how many were shot or the severity of their injuries.

"Several people shot by suspect are being transported to area hospitals; unknown exact number or severity of injuries" he said.

The scene is still active as a bomb squad is searching his vehicles for explosives. The shooter said to be a lawyer was described as black and carrying a revolver. 

According to Memorial Hermann Hospital, one victim is in critical condition. Residents in the West University apartment complex are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
