The Real Madrid attacker has four Ballon d’Ors
Ronaldo and Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo is going to get tongue wagging with his recent comments about Lionel Messi.
Speaking after he picked up his fourth Ballon d’Or, the Real Madrid player was asked who he thinks would have won more if they had played together. His answer to such a question isn’t that surprising – although it is surprising that he answered at all. It’s a pretty loaded question. But when it comes to his greatness, Ronaldo never shies away.
Better when they’re together
Fox Sports quoted Ronaldo saying: “It would be interesting to see both of us in the same team. I think great players should play together. So if we were in the same team, I think I would have more than him, but he wouldn’t be far off.”
“Everyone knows Messi is a great player. He’s won five Ballon d’Ors.”
We wish he elaborated on this comment. What does it mean? What is he implying? Could it be that he’s saying Messi has played with better players and that Madrid are more reliant on him? Answers on a postcard.
