Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has hailed Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s mentality, after another fine display in Thursday’s 2-0 win over Zorya in the Europa League.
Mkhitaryan scored a brilliant solo goal to set the Red Devils on their way to the next round of the competition.
The Armenian endured a tough start to life at Old Trafford following his move from Borussia Dortmund. He was taken off in the Manchester Derby in September and did not start in the Premier League again until the 1-1 draw at Everton on December 4.
“He has a strong mentality,” Mourinho said after the match.
“He was very determined to fight against his difficult adaptation and he’s doing that in the best way.
“He worked really hard physically, tactically, and the talent we know is there – the talent we knew we were buying.
“He fought to improve and now he is playing well in the Premier League, Europa League and the EFL Cup, and now evolving a bit more happiness for him, so I’m very pleased.”
